Book Blogger Memory Challenge

Greetings you guys! How is your weekend so far? We woke up yesterday morning thinking we haven’t done a Book Tag in ages. I know some people hate them, we aren’t part of that group and usually love it! We just tend to miss it like you can miss your luggage at an airport without tags attached. The importance of tags…

Anyway, yesterday we saw this fun tag over at Carol and The Reading Ladies‘ gorgeous blog and thought we’d hop along for a bit of fun. But then we realized we don’t have a featured image and Anna’s been yapping to become part of MY blog… So my Mommy jumped on CANVA and 21:00 last night we had a brand new set of graphics. Including the mutt. Damn.

So we are late to the party. But here we go, we are not going to miss out on another fun book tag!

The Rules

Answer the prompts without using the internet or looking at your bookshelves. Your answers have to come from MEMORY! Make sure to link to the person who originally tagged you and tag five other people if you’d like. *Just a sidenote on this – we actually tackle most of our TTT posts and Six Degrees from memory and take it from there.

Tagline 1:

Name a book by an author named Michael

We love Michael Morpurgo and he is a much loved author with the kids at school as well.

Tagline 2:

Name a book with a dragon on the cover

This was such a fun book and one of the very first reviews that I, Elza, wrote on the blog. I am still very proud of that review. You can read it here

Tagline 3:

Name a book written by an author with the surname Smith

Can you believe that we (Me, Mommy and the Mutt) haven’t read anything by Wilbur Smith? Daddy loved his books though.

Tagline 4:

Name a book set in Australia

This was a Book Club pick a year or two back and my Mommy loved it. It was set in the Northern Territory of Australia and an excellent family saga.

Tagline 5:

Name a book with a month in the title

My Mommy was born one day in December. A glorious day indeed! Nope, we haven’t read this one yet. Maybe this December, on her birthday.

Tagline 6:

Name a book with a knife on the cover

We actually couldn’t think if a cover, but this title sprang from memory and luckily there is a knife on the cover.

Tagline 7:

Name a book with the word “one” in the title

I guess we could have gone with Tagline 5 again, but this one was the first one that popped into my Mommy’s brain when she saw the prompt.

Tagline 8:

Name a book with an eponymous title

Tagline 9:

Name a book turned into a movie

There were quite a lot that sprang to mind, but this one was the latest one that we saw. Gosh, we loved it. Both the book and the movie.

Tagline 10:

Carol is obviously a teacher, you need to have 10 questions! The original prompt only had 9, but she added a bonus one and seeing that my Mommy is also a teacher, she’ll gladly follow suit – Name a book with mountains in the title

We could have used this one for prompt 9 as well.

And there’s our tag! Feel free to tag along if you want to. I’m not quite sure who the creator of the tag was, but hop back to Carol and back from there and back again…. You might find it!

We won’t see you guys for The Sunday Post as well, but we wish you all a great week ahead and let us know if you like the new graphics.

    • Hi there Shelleyrae!

I actually have a copy of Matthew Flinders’ cat on the shelf! But I haven’t read it yet…. I think if I had a bit more time to think and browse a bit, I might have been able to go through with the cat theme.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will have a good week!

      • well, I hardly ever read fantasy, so I even wonder if I have had a dragon on a book I have read!
For knife, the first tile that came to mind is: The Word Is Murder, (Hawthorne and Horowitz Mystery #1) by Anthony Horowitz.
By the way, I suddenly think it would be a terrific game to do with my book club members – I organize games and prizes for our January meetings, as it’s our anniversary month

    • Hi Terrie!

I am also glad that the whole family is presented now. Anna must just start doing her “own” reviews now. Maybe soon.

I used to always be on the lookout for book tags, but time gets the better of me most of the time. Glad I took part again! Will try to get to them a bit more.

Thanks for the visit Terrie and I hope you will have a good week ahead!

    • Hi there Wendy!

It was fun yes. I think if I had some time to think more and browse just a bit, I actually might have gone straight through with the cat theme!!

Where the Crawdads sing is a beautiful adaptation! Hope you get to it soon.

    • Hi Cindy!

I’ve switched from Blogger to WordPress.com just over a year ago and I am soooo happy that I did it! I also thought that I won’t be able to do it, but lo and behold!! I managed! Canva is the BEST. You just need to take a bit of time on there and play a bit. Then it becomes slightly easier.

Blogger did have it’s benefits yes, but having your own domain is just loads of fun.

I hope you will have a wonderful week!

    • Hi there Yvonne!

I just went with the first thing that popped in my head and I think our memories are much stronger than what we actually want to give it credit!

I also like the new graphics and I’m contemplating if I want to change the header as well… But that will have to wait for the holidays.

Thanks for the visit and I hope you will have a good week!

    • Thanks Emily!

Of course you can still claim baby brain. It’s not as if you rest a lot or hardly enough with a four year old around. I’m just really good with remembering books! It might be due to my work as well, I work a lot with cognitive development in kids at school and I guess it spills over. I have a rather sharp memory all over… So hey! My work, works!! LOL!!

Have a great week and thanks for the visit!

  1. I absolutely loved “One day in December”. I have came across similar books since then but its very distinctive. New graphics for the blog is great. I recently learned about NFTs and the importance of graphics for the future.

    • I am going to try my best to get to One Day in December this December holidays! Glad to hear you have enjoyed it so much.

Thanks for the compliment on the graphics. I love playing around with graphics and feel I need to update them every now and then.

      Have a good week!

It’s too early in the morning. I can’t get any of those answers. For a book with a month in the title my poor brain said “The Thursday Murder Club,” which is a good book but a wrong answer. I did come up with Anna Karenina for an eponym. But I first thought of Katherine Mansfield — New Zealand, not Australia. Thinking harder, I guess I can come up with the Napoleon Bonaparte mystery series (with the eponymous aboriginal detective named for the French Emperor, set in Australia). And Mountains beyond Mountains about the late and remarkable Dr. Farmer. Poor brain.
