But I’ve already skipped Friday Meets and my strict Dutch Reformed background will not permit my conscience to skip another weekly feature. So let’s see how short and sweet this can be!Thalked about this week Cover Characteristics – The saga of Smelly Cat Part 1 Book Travelling Thursdays – The Saga of Smelly Cat Part 2 Top Ten Tuesday – Most Unique Characters in Literature Book Review Jane Steele: Reader, I didn’t care for it much No Self-help section this week. The Sunday Post – Headlines and the Failure of Super Powers

Greetings! Missed me and The Sunday Headlines much? Don’t worry – so did I. I’ve been absent from the blogosphere for just over 4 months, but hopefully I’ll start floating around again. I did manage to read a couple of blog posts, but didn’t write (or read for that matter) anything myself. (Note: Don’t you guys miss Gene Wilder? And can somebody please tell me why does that picture of him just fit every possible meme you can ever think of?) To answer: Well, that’s a rather long and sad story. It’s Sunday and nobody feels like a sad song. So let’s rather just give a few headlines. 1. 29 September 2016 – Missing mind never recovered due to positive pregnancy test. (Refer back to Missing mind reported)2. 03 October 2016 – Joyful joyful! But be warned – hcg levels are very high (possibility of twins)3. 01 to 15 October 2016 – We’re all going on a Summer Holiday (In Mauritius!)4. 31 October 2016 – First ultrasound. Lo and Behold – it’s twins! (And I feel like crap)5. November 2016 – To move, or not to move? That is the question. (We live half-way across the country from family. And it’s twins. We’re going to need […]

The Sunday Headlines #2 – Missing Mind reported

This post link up with the The Sunday Post, a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer and It’s Monday! What are you reading? hosted by The Book Date. This is a post to recap the past week on your blog, tell everyone about books and things you can showcase and share the next week’s forecast: What are you reading, what have you just finished and what do you plan to read. And some other news that will make the headlines as well. Remember to link your post and to visit others who have linked up. Greetings from the Headless Headline Woman! I’m not popular enough (yet) to stake the claim that you’ve noticed I’ve gone missing this week. Hardly spend any time on the blogosphere. Hardly spend any time anywhere worth mentioning. Least of all my mind. But I do have a whole list of excuses lined up. Actually, there’s only one. But everything else spirals down from that one.A couple of weeks ago, I’ve posted my inky thoughts and pondered the question, What turns you into “The girl on the train”? That wasn’t just random thoughts. That is a question that I’ve pondered on for over three years now. The struggle is very, very real (as we love to […]

The Sunday Headlines #1

This post link up with the The Sunday Post, a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer and It’s Monday! What are you reading? hosted by The Book Date. This is a post to recap the past week on your blog, tell everyone about books and things you can showcase and share the next week’s forecast: What are you reading, what have you just finished and what do you plan to read. And some other news that will make the headlines as well. Remember to link your post and to visit others who have linked up. Have you noticed that my post title has changed? I normally just post under The Sunday Post, but I’ve noticed something very strange last week. Yes, stranger than fiction. Real events. Like all the likes and hits I had on my Sunday Post last Sunday. Wait, let me start at the beginning – a very good place to start. When you read you begin with ….? YES! – THE HEADLINE. And that was all I did for last week’s post. I literally only took the headlines (alteration is allowed) from the previous week’s posts and linked it up. In my defense, I was really tired and had a hard week, […]

The Sunday Post – Double up to 100

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer. This is a post to recap the past week on your blog, tell everyone about books and things you can showcase and share news for the upcoming week. Remember to link your post and to visit others who have linked up.Today’s Sunday Post is the 100th post on my blog. Yea! Of course I had big plans for this post. I mean it is 100 and we all know how very important that number is. (Actually, I have absolutely no idea what the significance of 100 is. Will find out though)When I started planning today’s Sunday Post, I realized it had that one magical ingredient that one need to write a classic fairy tale like Sleeping Beauty: The reception will bore you to sleep. Too much thalk thalk thalk, tooo much blah blah blah.   So as a potential future evil queen (one should always aspire to greatness), I came to rescue you. I will NOT include my 100th post celebration, I will just give you a quick recap of the past two weeks and leave the celebrations for later in the week. That way you are bound to stay awake for the duration […]

The Sunday Post – You have NO idea

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer. This is a post to recap the past week on your blog, tell everyone about books and things you can showcase and share news for the upcoming week. Remember to link your post and to visit others who have linked up. You have NO idea how bad the past 36 hours (yes, I’m counting) have been. I woke up yesterday morning with a spring in my step. That in itself is amazing, as the past week has been just horrible, horrible (try saying that in a french accent. The impact is so much better). While we were having coffee, my husband asked me what my plans for the day were. It was rather simple: Finish some schoolwork  Do the Olymic Book Tag Finish the new Harry Potter Now didn’t that sound like a good Saturday? As I was making breakfast, I asked my dear, oh so dear, husband to see if there are any nice templates on blogger that I might look at in a few weeks time, you know When I have time to waste.  Those of you who have children, know when your toddler goes quiet, you normally just happen […]

The Sunday Post – 07 August 2016

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer. This is a post to recap the past week on your blog, tell everyone about books and things you can showcase and share news for the upcoming week. Remember to link your post and to visit others who have linked up.This week’s predominant event in my little corner of the world was the SA Local Government Elections 2016. It is a historic time in South Africa, leaving the ANC bruised and the DA galvanized. ewn.co.za A picture says a thousand words. This photo was taken in Port Elizabeth where a new dawn sure is breaking.  But enough about that. I’m not one to talk politics, lets talk books!  Featured Inkspots Top Ten Tuesday This week’s Top Ten Tuesday was a real mouth full: “Ten books you would buy right this second if someone handed you a fully loaded gift card”.    Gosh no. That’s too much for this over-occupied mind. I just shortened it to: Ten Books I bought right this second. And I really did. I can show you the receipts! Cover CharacteristicsI’m not being very successful with Cover Characteristics lately… I really enjoy doing it and had lots of fun […]

The Sunday Post – 31 July 2016

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer. This is a post to recap the past week on your blog, tell everyone about books and things you can showcase and share news for the upcoming week. Remember to link your post and to visit others who have linked up.When I was young, we had this really cool add on tv “The end of the month salticrax”. Dumb and Dumber and me never knew that salticrax is proudly South African! I’ve used this add for my Friday Meets on Friday and was quite surprised that nobody thought my “end of the month toppings” were clever. Gmpfff. Until my husband pointed out that most of my readers do not know the add, or salticrax, and will thus not understand.      Okay, I get that. But I still love it! (Salticrax and the add) Today I am on my very last salticrax and NO toppings. This week’s Sunday Post-salticrax is thus dry and unimaginative.  Featured Inkspots Top Ten Tuesday Top Ten Tuesday really is my most-fun, favorite link-up! Every week I think:  “Now this was the most fun ever!”  and then the next week comes along and uhmmm, I’m just having more […]
