Today’s Cover Characteristics – Don’t you turn your back on me! (Okay, actually it is covers featuring only the back of people)

Cover Characteristics is a weekly meme hosted by Sugar and Snark. Every week they give us these gorgeous themes and then you have to pick 5 (or more – whatever blows your hair back) covers featuring that theme. If you want to participate:
  • Pick your covers
  • Post it to your blog
  • Share your post’s URL in the linky provided by Sugar and Snark
  • Go and check out the other guys who also posted! (This might influence your current TBR list a great deal.)

I was quite amazed to see how many books feature only the backs of people. I’ve only browsed through the list of books that I have read already and there were more than enough for this week’s theme.  Gmmf, now I don’t feel so bad anymore for turning my back on a book this past weekend – there are plenty of books who turn their backs on us!

Every week I struggle to decide which book to mark as my favourite cover. I’ve decided to place the book that I thought of first every week – FIRST. So for this week it will be:

21480930
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

19418277 25801299
I loved both the girls in these books.

The Girl with all the gifts by M.R. Cary
After Anna by Alex Lake

Torment (Fallen, #2) 18710190
But all little girls grow into teenagers who think they can conquer the world and fall in love with boys who will only break their hearts. Over and over again.

Torment by Lauren Kate
Allegiant by Veronica Roth

And then there is Spud. Quite sure that he will never intentionally turn his back on you.

Cormoran has a lot on his mind, I will excuse him for turning his back on me. But Juliet is a different story. She will turn her back on you. Especially if you pack her books in boxes and dump it in the cellar to make space for your sports trophies on the shelve.

The Silkworm by Robert Galbraith
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer.

Please share the books that have turned their backs on you with me – I promise to hate them too.

    • Hi Zoe! Aaah, thank you – that means a lot to me! Thanks for visiting. I also love Timon. I think we should publish a book "The Wisdom of Timon". LOL. Enjoy your weekend!

    • Hi Lisa! So sorry for the late reply, hectic week on my side. I've only read the first two in the Fallen series, still need to get to the rest. I had a look at your covers – very nice!

    • Hi Cait! YEA!!! Thanks for visiting (really jumping up and down here. Because I LOVE LOVE Paper Fury). I enjoy the Cover Characteristics meme, I don't tend to judge a book by its cover, so it forces me to look for puppies and rainbows and paintings and and and…. BUT it's realllllllyyyyy bad for my TBR list. I'll have to meet a vampire and beg for immortality to be able to get through that list. Hope you've had an awesome week so far.

  1. I think Gone Girl is my favorite of these. After Anna's not bad and The Guernsey one isn't either. Nice diverse picks this week!

  2. Wow you found so many good ones! I think I like the After Anna cover the most – it's vaguely creepy and I don't know why!

    • Hi Clare! Sorry for the late reply, I had a hectic two days. After Anna is rather creepy, but I loved it! It really is a good read. Hope your week has been awesome so far!
