Weekend Book Friends #27

Weekend Book Friends #27

Greetings you guys! It’s Friday and my Mommy is officially on holidays! Whoo hoo! The fact that it’s only the second time this whole year that we get to our Weekend Posts, does give you an indication of how the term went. It wasn’t bad at all, just busy. Luckily we can now relax and just read a bit. So what will we read this weekend? This one might be a bit on the heavy side, but it’s a carry over from last month and we really want to read it. There will still be enough time for the lighter holiday reads. For our first stop, we will pay a visit to @ Reading is my Super Power for First Line Friday and to Gilion @ Rose City Reader for Book Beginnings.  Every Friday you can link up and share the first sentence of your current read (or the one you plan to devour over the weekend), as well as your initial thoughts and impressions. Songbirds open with a very short, but powerful chapter. One day, Nisha vanished and turned to gold. The turned to gold in the eyes of the creature that stood before me. She turned to gold in the […]

She’s not engaged just yet, but she knows her boyfriend, Finn, a surgical resident, is about to propose on their romantic getaway to the Galápagos—days before her thirtieth birthday. Right on time. But then a virus that felt worlds away has appeared in the city, and on the eve of their departure, Finn breaks the news: It’s all hands on deck at the hospital. He has to stay behind. You should still go, he assures her, since it would be a shame for all of their nonrefundable trip to go to waste. And so, reluctantly, she goes. Almost immediately, Diana’s dream vacation goes awry. The whole island is now under quarantine, and she is stranded until the borders […]

Monday Bloopers #4 – A Spark of Light

Monday Bloopers #4 – A Spark of Light

Greetings Humans! It’s the first Monday of November and this month, we are going to be better. We haven’t done a Monday Bloopers post for the last 2 months and I am terribly upset about this. I’ve inspired my Mommy to upgrade to WordPress, I’ve slept sat through hours of post tweaking and blog design and she still doesn’t do the one post that is all about me. Monday Bloopers is a fun monthly meme to show off your pet’s lesser photogenic side.  I guess the idea is to post a photo that didn’t work as well as the shooter anticipated it would. *Camera shooter. It’s hosted by Melissa @ Melissa’s Mocha’s, Mysteries & Meows and if you are in the mood for some feline love, you really should go and visit her. Pet Photo Fails is also a link-up meme, so don’t forget to share your link and to visit the other photo fails. As I’ve explained to you on more than one occasion in the past, the only problem with this fun meme, is that it’s basically impossible to get a bad photo of me. It’s quite similar to capturing a ghost – not possible. Talking about ghosts, did you guys enjoy your Halloween?  […]
