Ten Books to Better Describe your Wardrobe

Posted March 22, 2022 by elzaread in Top Ten Tuesday / 39 Comments

Greetings Humans! It’s time for another fun Top Ten Tuesday. Gosh, we love to play around with this meme and the opportunities are always endless. This week’s prompt is Top Ten Books with Adjectives in the title.

Those of you who follow our blog and know me quite well by now, will know that I love to hide in the laundry basket when I’m scared. When I’m just looking for a comfy place to curl up in, my Mommy’s wardrobe is the place to be. Is there any place you can think of that will have more adjectives than the content of a wardrobe? Let me show you:

  1. The Woolly Hat Knitting Club by Poppy Dolan – Who doesn’t have a woolly hat in the closet?
  2. The Turquoise Mask by Phyllis A Whitney – Although an essential item in all our wardrobes the last two years, this mask isn’t quite the same.
  3. The girl in White Gloves by Kerri Maher – Not something we see that much any more. Unless you are royalty. I’m nothing but a white glove.
  4. The Pink Suit by Nicole Mary Kelby – Mommy’s side of the wardrobe
  5. The man in the Brown Suit by Agatha Christie – Daddy’s side of the wardrobe (What? Did you think I won’t add an Agatha Christie?)
  6. The Wedding Dress by Rachell Hauck – The one dress every little girl dream to have in her wardrobe. These days I know a lot of ladies rent their wedding dresses and I can understand that. My Mommy’s is still in the wardrobe though.
  7. Girl in a Blue Dress by Gaynor Arnold – First you get the LBD (little black dress), then the SRD (sexy red dress) and then the TBD (trusty blue dress)
  8. The Red Shoes by Hans Christian Andersen – No wardrobe is complete without a pair of red shoes. You can wear them with your LBD, your SRD and your TBD.
  9. Muddy Boots and Silk Stockings by Julia Stoneham – A rather strange combination, I know. But never throw any of these two out. Rainy Days and Romantic Evenings always come again.
  10. The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants by Ann Brashares – The good old denim pants. Or skirts. Or jackets. And it just goes on and on and on.

What piece of clothing did we miss here? My Mommy didn’t think it was funny when I suggested Captain Underpants. Apparently it doesn’t qualify as an adjective in any case.

What books with adjectives did you find today? Remember to add your link to Jana’s linky at That Artsy Reader Girl and to visit your fellow bloggers. Add a few adjectives to your comments today! It will make them all feel extra special.

      Hi Susan!

Glad you’ve enjoyed our post, we aim to have fun with TTT! The story about the little mouse sounds like a lot of fun. I will have to tell Elza about it…!

Red Shoes was a childhood favorite, although I always thought it was very sad.

Thanks for the visit and have a good day!!!

Hi Stacey, I’ve had The Wedding Dress on my TBR for ages. Glad to hear you’ve enjoyed it, looking forward to read it now.

  2. Great way to do this week’s topic. I wish I had read more books about clothes so I could’ve done this one a little more easily, lol. 🙂

Hi there Jenni! I actually haven’t read all of them, a few are just on my TBR and I had to search for a few of these to fill up my post.

Thanks for your visit and have a wonderful day!

Hi Lindsey! Thanks so much. Twists are our favorite posts. Yes, Captain Underpants would have fit the bill perfectly indeed.

      Have a great day!

Thanks Lisa! The woolly book and the Muddy Boots are books I actually haven’t read yet and stumbled on them while searching for books to fill this post. I actually think both may be books I will enjoy.

Thanks for the visit! Have a wonderful day!

  3. This is a very cute idea you came up with for this week! I just did it the easy reliable way, lol. I used to read Phyllis Whitney many, many years ago. The book you have about Grace Kelly seems interesting, though I would have to keep in mind it is historical fiction and not a biography. Thanks!

Hi there Mia! Thanks so much! I always love to have fun with TTT. There’s nothing wrong with going the reliable route. It’s always a safe option and can get you far with saving time.

I have the Grace Kelly book on my TBR, but I haven’t actually read it yet. Will get to it eventually!

I loved Phyllis Whitney when I was a late teen, early twenties. Years ago…. Can’t even remember the last time I’ve read one.

Thanks for your visit and have a wonderful day!
