Ten New to Us Authors

Posted January 25, 2022 by elzaread in Top Ten Tuesday / 35 Comments

Greetings! It’s Tuesday and Top Ten Tuesday time. Today’s prompt is Ten New to Us Authors we’ve read for the first time in 2021. Quick and easy! We’ve read quite a few new authors in 2021, but we’ve decided to narrow today’s list down to the authors we’ve read for the first time and will definitely read again. Oh I am very much aware that you will thrown upon some of these names. I know we should have read them years ago. Hopefully, there will be many great years to come.

  1. Pip Williams – The Dictionary of Lost Words
  2.  Maggie O’Farrell – This must be the place
  3.  Jessica Townsend – The Trials of Morrigan Crow
  4.  Riley Sager – Home Before Dark
  5. T.J. Klune – The House in the Cerulean Sea
  6. J’Nell Ciesielski – The Ice Swan
  7. Julia Quinn – The Duke and I
  8. Catherine McCullagh – Secrets and Showgirls
  9. Amor Towles – A Gentleman in Moscow
  10. Ken Follett – The Evening and the Morning

Except for Pip Williams, the above might be new to a few of us, but the rest might only be new to me and Mommy. What is your favorite book by any of the above authors? And which authors are new to you in 2021?

Hi there Lex! March is not that far away…. I’ve actually watched a few episodes last week just for the fun of it.

      Hope you are well!!!

  1. I’ve read books by four of these authors – quite sure A Gentleman in Moscow would be my rec. I have not met him but our mothers went to Radcliffe together, and I really enjoyed the book and his earlier one.

Hi Constance! How interesting! I think we sometimes tend to forget that authors are actually real people as well with a childhood and friends and all!

I hope you enjoy A Gentleman in Moscow.

Hi Greg! I am soooo sorry I only reply now! Our internet was down at home and at school there isn’t enough time to get to the blog as well. It’s luckily all fixed now!

I hope you had a great week!

  2. I have a couple of Ken Follett books to read but I haven’t picked them up yet because they are a huge investment time-wise! I also want to try Amor Towles, I’ve been hearing so much about his books lately!

Hi Bree! Yes, time-wise the Ken Follett’s will have to be a huge investment and time is a very valuable and scarce commodity lately. But I do still hope to get to them soon.

      Thanks for visiting us!

I have only read one of each of these authors, but I’ve already bought another Riley Sager and Under the Whispering Door by T.J. Klune.

      Thanks for returning the favor!

I do hope you will get a chance to read a few of them soon. All of these were excellent reads in my humble opinion.

Hi Carrie! I absolutely loved The Iced Swan and will definitely read more books by J’nell Cielsielki when I get my hands on them. Glad to hear you’ve also enjoy her books.

      Thanks for the visit!

LOVED The House in the Cerulean Sea!
Can’t wait to get to Under the Whispering Door.
Both Riley Sager and Julia Quinn are authors I’d gladly recommend.

      Thanks for stopping by!

I can’t believe I’ve never read Ken Follett before The Evening and the morning. I’m definitely still going to read all of them!
Glad our list enticed you so!

Amor Towles didn’t appear on my radar until I’ve started blogging again. I’ve only read A Gentleman in Moscow but I’ve put all his other books on my TBR.
Maggie O’Farrell was a pleasant surprise. Didn’t think I would enjoy her work, but This must be the place was really a good read.

Hope you are having a good week Debs!

I have only read The House in the Cerulean Sea and have Under the Whispering Door on audible, but I think his writing style is really brilliant and I will probably read more of his books.

      Thanks for stopping by!

I’ve read (5) of the authors from you list. I especially love: Amor Towles – reading his new book The Lincoln Highway now; very good too.
