His ears were pointed sharply and were long enough to be those of a wild cat. The farmyard was his kingdom - he had made it so.
This is the story of the nine loves of a very special cat, from impetuous young kitten to the king of the farmyard. Wherever Montezuma goes, adventure and excitement are sure to follow!
An enchanting take of feline charm from War Horse author Michael Morpurgo.
Greetings you guys! We’ve been a bit quiet on the review side for school. Not that the kids don’t still write the most lovely reviews, it’s just a matter of getting the time to post them!
We will try to update as many as we can within the last couple of weeks of school.
Michael Morpurgo is by far one of the most popular authors amongst the VCS students. My Mommy is very happy about that and I am ecstatic to see that all his cat books are at the top of the list. His books are not only for children, but can be enjoyed by teachers, parents and any other adults as well.
Christine Kriel, one of our Grade 7 students, loves to read and she’s on her way to High School. Just before they start with their Grade 7 exams, Christine quickly read this adventurous tale of an extraordinary kitty. Very much like me.
Montezuma was named after the Aztec King and he surely lived up to his name. The poor kitty didn’t have an easy start in live and was the only survivor of his litter. The first human he met, was Matthew and they formed a tight bond through the years. The also went on many adventures together, or should I rather say misadventures.
Later in his live, Montezuma became a companion to an old man and found a comfortable space in a rock hard heart. He was a real charmer and a great survivor. Of course he was a handsome fellow as well and strong in body and spirit.
The chapters of this book were very cleverly named. Between The Beginning and the End, there were 8 lives. Each one a chapter.
I enjoyed reading about Montezuma’s nine lives and to go on all his adventures with him. This book is an inspiring read and I will easily recommend it to all my fellow students.
We are so glad that the VCS students enjoy Michael Morpurgo’s books so much, we love them all as well!
This sounds so cute!
Thank you Emma!
Michael Morpurgo’s books are so lovely. Can honestly be enjoyed by young and old.
What a lovely review. I love books about cats and all animals.
Thank you Wendy!
I will make sure to show your comment to Christine tomorrow at school.
