Wondrous Words Wednesday – Christmas

Posted December 23, 2020 by elzaread in Wondrous Words Wednesday / 11 Comments

Season Greetings! Just before we log of for the Christmas weekend, I asked my Mommy if we can just have a quick look at the word Christmas. Tomorrow it is Christmas Eve and the day after, it will be Christmas. The bestest day of the year. But what does this wondrous word actually mean?

I was still a wee little kitten last Christmas and all I was really interested in, was of course, the tree. I simply couldn’t resists it and climbed and scratched and got tangled like you won’t believe. I kind of remember my Mommy packing out these little figurines and I got a very, very strict talk. I am not suppose to touch those little men, the woman or the baby with even a whisker.

This year when my Mommy packed them out, I got the same talk. But I also finally got the other talk and now I know who these little figurines are and I know what the true meaning of Christmas is. I think this acronym (oh, how we love those) are simply perfect:

I couldn’t have done it better myself. We are not going to be sharing any books today like we normally do for our Wednesday Wisdom post. We are still hoping for those stacks of books that are magically going to appear under the tree on Christmas morning. Then we can talk books again.

We will be a bit off-line until the weekend. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and may you find peace and rejoice in the presence of His Glory. And I do hope that you will  get all the presents on your wish list. Not that that is what Christmas is all about, but in all honesty, it’s great to open a present or two on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

Lots of Love and Christmas Blessings,

  1. That is the cutest picture! What a little doll she is! Thankfully our cat doesn't really mess with the tree but my mother's kitten wouldn't stay out of it. Every phone conversation with her involved her shrieking at the cat about half the time so I'll probably wait until after she takes them down before I talk to her again. It's better for my hearing!

    • I need those WhatsApp emojis on the blog. Had such a nice chuckle now.
My sister doesn't have a Christmas tree for I guess the exact same reason.
I believe that animals learn from each other and my older cats weren't much interested in the tree, so now that Elza is a bit older, neither is she!

  2. Funny that you got the talk. I don't put up a tree or anything partially for the dangling what nots. I hope you read some fantasti books! Holidate sounds great.

  3. Love this post. Glad Elza is behaving herself around the tree. I saw that Kathy encouraged you to take over this meme. I miss Wondrous Words (I miss Kathy and Bermudaonion, too, but that's another story).

    • Thanks Debs! If you didn't point out to me now that Kathy is encouraging me to take over the meme, I wouldn't even have realized. Wow… I actually feel so humble and honored now. I've just messaged her and I will have to play around a bit and see how to do this. I might need your help! I do hope that Kathy will return to blogging soon.

Let's just get Christmas done and dusted first.
