Ten Characters whose job I wish I had (if only I was a human)

Greetings all you beautiful humans! It’s Tuesday and once again, I am hijacking my Mommy’s Top Ten Tuesday post. Today’s prompt from the lovely Jana over @ That Artsy Reader Girl, is Ten Characters whose job I wish I had. It’s obvious that my Mommy already has her dream job (teacher/librarian), otherwise she would have been at home more. So I will entertain you today with my very own selection of the jobs I would have loved to have. If I were a human. And a fictional character.
Of course I would have loved to be the Queen of England with a whole string of kittens ladies in waiting, but what would I do all day? Smile and wave is much more appealing to a penguin than to a fluffy white kitten. There are also way to many books to choose from, so I’ll leave that title to someone else. 
1. Obsessive Cleaner and Critique of everyone around me

I do believe that job title will suit me very well. The closest character from a book I could think of who will fit the bill as well, is Britt-Marie from Britt-Marie was here by Fredrik Backman
2. A Feather Duster with some va-va-va-voom

A job that will fit me perfectly. I can be sexy and flirtatious while cleaning up the whole house. Just like Babette from Beauty & The Beast.

3. Housekeeper and Secret Keeper

I see you get the trend here. I love to clean and make people happy. I believe I will be the perfect housekeeper. Like Marina (Ma) from The Seven Sisters Series by Lucinda Riley. I will also be able to keep all those silly girls happy and welcome them back home in that beautiful pink palace in Geneva. All while I keep Pa Salt’s secrets….
                
4. Egyptologist and Death Doula 

Just imagine how well I will work in Egypt. See, I don’t need to be the Queen of England. If I work in Egypt, they will worship me just for my feline heritage. If that also don’t quite work out for me as it didn’t quite work out for Dawn Edelstein in The Book of Two Ways by Jodi Picoult, I believe I can also easily become a death doula. Who wouldn’t want a fluffy white kitten on their death bed?
5. Entomologist 

Those little creepy buggers will stand no change against me, not even Miss Benson’s Beetle by Rachel Joyce.  I’ll discover new species on a daily basis and I can travel to all sorts of exotic places with my Mommy. 
    

6. Amateur Consulting Detective and General Town Busybody 

I might still be a bit young for this position, but as you know, cats grow older a bit faster than humans. I would love to be a real Miss Marple and maybe somebody will write a whole series of books about me too. And still read them almost a 100 years later. 
7. Professional Constar and Trickster

Like Tracy Whitney. You know from the Sidney Sheldon novels? I’m sure I can pull all those clever schemes and thefts off better than Miss Whitney. But I might use her name. Perfect fit. Elza Whitney.
8. Showgirl and Costume Designer  
But I will need a time travelling machine before I accept any position. I don’t think the current day showgirls are as much fun as it where in the 1940’s. City of Girls by Elizabeth Gilbert
    
9. The local newspaper’s Agony Aunt

Once again, I might still be a bit young for this position. But I truly am very mature for my size and my age. I think it’s a lot of fun to answer all the people’s Dear Abby letters and to give them advice that will change their lives forever. If I can console them with a few of Tannie Maria’s delicious recipes as well, it will be quite the fun job. Tannie Maria Murder Mysteries by Sally Andrew
                
10. Travelling Book Seller with a floating Bookshop

That will be my ultimate perfect job. Imagine all the mice and rats I can catch. Not to mention matching up all those books with their perfect readers. Just like Monsieur Perdu in The Little Paris Bookshop by Nina George. And when my job is done, I can curl up with my Mommy while she reads the one book after the other. Now doesn’t that sound absolutely perfect?
Are we going to meet each other in the interview room of any of my prospective job applications? You do of course know that I am the better candidate for all of these positions? I’m sure there are still a lot of other positions that will fit you perfectly. Rather apply for them.

    I love Elza's career goals! My big orange cat Comet would probably like to be a professional ice machine button pusher because every time anyone used the ice maker he comes running from wherever he is and just stares at it. I'm not sure what's so fascinating but there must be something there!

      Wha ha ha!!! It might be the sound of the ice clinking and rolling. That is so funny. In real life, I think Elza would love to be a professional gecko catcher.

    Interesting choices, very imaginative spin on the TTT post. "Amateur Consulting Detective and General Town Busybody" made me laugh a lot, and the Floating Bookshop Owner and Agony Aunt sound like dream jobs. Great going!

      Hi Lex! Miss Marple must sound as if she has a really important job title. Amateur Sleuth and busybody wouldn't quite fit the bill.

      I sometimes miss journalism and think it can be great fun to have my own column. But the blog is a welcome consolation!

    I adore watching town busybodies on TV ^^ I heard a novel once by Nora Roberts (don't remember the title) but the main character used to keep houses while their owners were away on vacation – imagine that, having a whole beautiful house to yourself in different locations !

      Hi IzaBzh! That can be wonderful yes! We love to do Air B&B and some of the places or so nice. Of course I always pick the places for the bookshelves displayed..!

      I also like the busybodies on tv. We still watch Murder she Wrote and it's actually my phone ringtone! LOL!!!
