Greetings you guys! We haven’t done a Top Ten Tuesday post in 3 weeks. First I had my tail in a knot and then Mommy were on holidays. But we are back to play along with Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl for this week’s edition. What a fun freebie prompt we have today – Book Quote Freebie! We’ve done a TTT on our favorite quotes from books (that can be updated I guess), but we didn’t feel like it. Nope, we would rather go with a few memorable quotes from probably the greatest detective in the world. Ever.
I guess we should have added what books these quotes come from… Let’s make it a guessing game! We have tried to add photos from the movies to a few of these quotes, see how many you can match!
For today's Top Ten Tuesday, we share a few memorable quotes from probably the greatest detective in the world. Ever. #herculepoirot #agathachristie #toptentuesday Click To TweetAre you a fan of the greatest detective in the world?
Have a wonderful Tuesday!
Lovely post! I haven’t read any Hercule Poirot yet, but these quotes make me want to change that 🙂
Hi there Lindsey!
Thanks so much!! I can recommend starting with The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, Murder on the Orient Express and Death on the Nile. A few of my chosen quotes are from these novels.
As soon as I saw Greatest Detective in the world I knew it was going to be Poirot! Great choices!
Hi Katherine! I KNEW you would know immediately and I loved doing this post!
These are great quotes, but I have no idea where they are from. None of them sound familiar to me!
Thank you for visiting my blog though!
Hi Marie! They are all from my favorite Poirot novels. Death on the Nile, Murder on the Orient Express, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd….
Glad you enjoyed our quotes and thanks for stopping by !
I love the quotes and the graphics!
Thanks AJ!
I love this and the way you presented your quotes, too. I really must read more Agatha Christie. Thanks for visiting.
Hi there Anne! I haven’t read any Agatha Christie last year and only one so far this year. The great thing about Agatha Christie’s books are that they remain so classic and I am always ready to pick one up.
Thanks for the visit and sorry for the late reply….
I love detective stories, but I have to admit that I have not read Poirot. I have read some Miss Marple and seen her on TV. It is terrible isn’t it?!
Some great quotes and I love the accompanying pictures!
Happy TTT
No it’s not terribly Emily!! We all read what we want to read and I was about 30 before I really got into Agatha Christie and especially Poirot. There are different reading seasons in our lives and I just think it’s brilliant that some authors can be timeless and seasonless.
Thanks for visiting us!!
Classic!
Thanks Lauren!
How fun! I love that you picked a specific character. When they’re this renowned, they have plenty to pick from. That one about evil, sadly, has too much truth. Thanks a bunch for visiting Finding Wonderland this week!
Hi there Rissi! The evil quote is from Death on the Nile and easily one of my favorite Poirot quotes ever.
Thanks for returning the favor and I hope you are doing well!
These are all such good quotes!
Thank you Lea!
These are so fun. And this post is making me want to try the Suchet Poirot shows, which I’ve heard so much about!
Hi Greg!
I still think you will love and enjoy Suchet as Poirot! But the Kenneth Branagh adaptations really aren’t bad either.
Glad you enjoyed these ones!
I’m looking forward to trying those! 🙂
I can’t wait to see your first post when you discover Poirot!
I love these! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Cindy!
I seem to never get enough of Agatha Christie!
Love how this are equal parts funny and wise.
Thanks Alicia! Mission accomplished!
Love this topic!! I really enjoyed the movie and still need to watch Death on the Nile AND read the books!
Most of the Agatha Christie adaptations are normally really good. Death on the Nile is one of my favorites in all aspects – book and all 3 movie adaptations.
Thanks so much for the visit and sorry we reply a bit late!
These quotes are so much fun! Thanks for sharing
I love Poirot and all his cleverness and quirkiness. I never tire of him!
I love Kenneth Brannagh’s Poirot. I especially love his mustache, lol. These are some great quotes. The fourth one reminds me of the beginning of the “Gaston” song in the original Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, except it’s the antithesis to what Gaston says to LeFou, lol.
Ha ha Jenni! That is so very true! That was the song they sang before they took Maurice to the loony bin. Loved it!!
I also like Kenneth Branagh’s Poirot, by David Suchet remains my favorite for sure!
Thanks for visiting us!
This was so fun!
Thank you Deanna! Glad you enjoyed it.
I loved all the photos you used for your post.
Thank you Steph! I tried to match it up as best as possible!
These are excellent quotes!
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
Thank you!
Great and beautiful list. I love your take on this week’s prompt, it made me want to re-read some Agatha Christie’s book, although I’m more of a Miss Marple girl 😉
Here is my TTT: https://herseriallife.com/top-10-badass-quotes-to-inspire-keep-fight/
Have a great week 🙂
I like both of them equally! I think Agatha Christie was an amazing author in order to have created two such marvelous characters.
Thanks for paying us a visit, glad you find our post inspiring!
There are so many people I know who could benefit from hearing this one: “The pursuit of revenge is rarely a good idea.” I can also think of whole political parties, even countries!
This fellow is a great detective. Perhaps the best. Thank you, Mareli, for sharing these quotes with us, especially with those of us who are detective-deficient.
Wa ha ha ha!! That is such a brilliant term – detective-deficient.
Yes, I agree about the revenge quote. It truly never benefits anyone!!
I love Poirot as a detective and the way he just THINKS. I liked Punt in Magpie Murders for the same reason as well.
Thanks for stopping by for TTT Debbie!
Good idea for this topic!
Thanks Margaret!
As you know, we always love TTT!
Poirot is a wonderful character. And the way his stories are written makes me have to use my little gray cells to try and understand the murder.

That is very true Pam. Agatha Christie’s novels are the only ones that I can read over and over and never get bored of them.
Thanks for visiting us!!
I do love Poirot’s little phrases and sayings, he’s such a quirky character 🙂
Hi Louise!
I believe it’s his quirkiness that makes him such a beloved character.
Thanks so much for visiting us!!
Those are some wonderful quotes. I especially like the “Do not allow evil into your heart. It will make a home there.”
Hi there Diane!
That is my favorite Agatha Christie quote as well! It’s from Death on the Nile and if you’ve seen the book or seen the movies, you will know that Poirot says that to Jacky even before the murder(s). He just knew that she is opening her heart to evil. Loved that.
Love these
Thanks Sarita!
Ooh, these are interesting quotes!
Thanks Lydia! Had fun choosing them!
