Fraterfest Readathon 2021

Posted October 25, 2021 by elzaread in Readathon / 5 Comments

And so we come to the end of another Fraterfest Readathon (sounds as if we’ve been doing it for years, it’s only our second year). I guess there are still a couple of hours to go, but the chances of us finishing our last book, is rather slim. My Mommy still has some school work to do and she wants to get some blogging in as well tonight.

I think we did quite well! The best part of all, I didn’t need to call my big brother, Stinkie in at all. Ha. Not such a scaridy cat after all. *Elza should mention that most of your Fraterfest picks for this year, weren’t actually scary at all.

Here’s our final tally:

Kindle: Home Before Dark by Riley Sager (402p); Boats and Bad Guys by Diana Xarissa (about 50% done of 230p) = 520 pages

Paperback: The Trials of Morrigan Crow, Nevermoor #1 by Jessica Townsend (465p); Gobbolino the Witch’s Cat by Ursula Moray Williams (245p) = 710 pages

Audiobook: City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab (5 hours, 2 min – 272p) = 272 pages

Grand Total: 4.5 Books, 1502 pages.

Favorites: Mommy = The Trials of Morrigan Crow Elza = Gobbolino the Witch’s Cat

We’ve enjoyed all our Fraterfest reads this year and I can’t believe we actually did better than we did last year! It might be because I’ve decided to just read with Mommy this year and not hide between the clean washing. Last year Stinkie was her reading companion, but I think he roamed the neighbourhood more than he spend time reading with Mommy. We also managed to stick to our schedule, mostly. The only book we didn’t get to, was The Saturday Night Ghost Club. It will be first on the list for next year (only until it gets bumped by all the new books my Mommy will add to her TBR).

Thank you so much Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer for hosting the Fraterfest Readathon. We tried to do a couple of the Instagram prompts, but we didn’t get the BINGO board at all. Hopefully next year.

The next challenge that’s just around the corner, is the Ho-Ho-Ho Readathon, also hosted by Kimberly. We’ve never taken part in this one, think we might give it a try. What’s your favorite holiday or winter read? Any suggestions for some Yuletide Murder Mysteries? I have one Christmassy book on my TBR at the moment, so please pass those suggestions on.

How did your Fraterfest Readathon go? Please share your favorite one with us so that we can start planning for next year!

  1. Glad you liked this event. I missed it but I’m looking forward to Halloween this weekend! I have not read a Riley Sager book …. but are his novels scary? Happy Halloween.

Home before Dark was my first Riley Sager and it was pretty scary yes. But the conclusion was sooo good. Don’t read it when you are alone or in the dark. Otherwise you should be fine!

I haven’t done Ho-ho-ho before, so I will need to do some research and see how far I get!
But I really enjoyed Fraterfest yes!
